The Be Blondes’ Vacation Guide: Big Cedar Lodge

Big Cedar Lodge is a vacation property in Ridgedale, MO and sits on the scenic Table Rock Lake! We have been visiting Big Cedar Lodge for nearly two decades, and it is a family favorite of ours at anytime of the year. Apart from being one of the most stunning locations in the Ozark mountains, Big Cedar Lodge is home to some of the best activities that the whole family can enjoy. We are going to be breaking down our favorite things to do at our home away from home.

New Years Eve at Big Cedar Lodge

Ok so if you aren’t doing Big Cedar for NYE, you are surely missing out! The girls have been going to the New Year’s Eve party at the Big Cedar convention center for years, and it is one of the most fun parties of the year. The live band, food, and champagne toast with fireworks at midnight make for a truly special way to start the New Year off with the people you hold nearest and dearest.

Big Cedar Lodge Restaurants

Y’all know a Southern Girl likes to eat, right? Well, the restaurants at Big Cedar are top-of-the-line! No morning is complete on the property without coffee from the Truman Cafe, and you might as well grab some gravy and biscuits while you are there. The pinnacle of a Big Cedar vacation is dinner and drinks at the Worman House. What can we say, we like a fancy dinner! After dinner, head on down to the Buzzard Bar at Devil’s Pool for drinks with the Singing Cowboy. You are guaranteed to have a good time!

Things To Do

There is no shortage of fun things to do around Big Cedar! Aside from numerous pools, hot tubs, and the lazy river- some of the most fun you can have at Big Cedar Lodge is in the water! Table Rock Lake on Big Cedar Lodge is host to numerous water activities. Rent a pontoon boat for the day and go inner-tubing or paddle boat along the marina if that is more your speed! Also, Big Cedar is known for wonderful fishing for the fishermen in your life. Beyond all of the fun you can have on the water, there is also Fun Mountain complete with obstacle course, bumper cars, bowling, and more. One of our favorite activities on the property is mini golf which culminates with a putt into the mouth of a big bass! Top of the Rock

One of our favorite excursions is to Top of the Rock. If you are an avid golfer, the Payne’s Valley course is top-of-the-line and designed by Tiger Woods! You will not want to miss the Lost Canyon Cave golf cart tour. Make sure you grab one of their exclusive cocktails at the Bat Bar that is inside the cave! To culminate your trip to Top of the Rock- have dinner at Osage. If you can swing it, make sure your reservation is during sunset so that you can experience the playing of the bagpipes and the firing of the cannon as the sun sets. It truly will take your breath away!
